Tempel Farms Organics' mission is to practice sustainable organic agriculture that enriches our soils, feeds and teaches our children and our neighborhood and provides us the knowing pleasure that we are future-minded, responsible stewards of the land. We will grow high quality produce, poultry and flowers for our local customers. We will strive to educate our customers about the benefits of eating locally raised, organic food as well as the many benefits of supporting local agriculture. Chris and Tania Cubberly began farming in 2005 with 5 acres. In 2008 we were hired to start and manage a new organic farm, Tempel Farms Organics. Today we are transitioning 65 acres to organic. We currently grow on 12 acres and offer a wide variety of diverse vegetables, flowers and raise pasture raised poultry and egg layer hens and a CSA weekly box.
Full Vegetable Share:For 20 weeks from June 9 through October 20 you will receive a 5/9 bushel box of organic vegetables that were harvested that day and/or the previous day. It usually works out to about 7 -10 items per box per week. This is equivalent to a full sized grocery bag and should easily feed two vegetable enthusiasts or four average veggie lovers. Full shares are $585.00 for 20 weeks.
Half Vegetable Share: which are the same amount as full shares but offered every other week starting June 9th and ending October 6th for a total of 10 shares are $345.00.
Our seasonal fruit share CSA: is offered for 16 weeks from mid June to late September. A variety of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, cherries, peaches, apples and much more will fill your summer with "in season" sensations! Fruit will be harvested from our farm and from other local sustainable growers. $275.00
CSA members also have first "crack" at our pasture raised eggs to be reserved for an additional charge when you pick up your box. You'll never be out of a great farm fresh eggs.
Tempel Farms Organics is a diversified farm located in Old Mill Creek, Illinois. We practice sustainable organic agriculture that enriches our soil and provides a healthy environment for growing high quality vegetables, fruit, cut flowers and pasture raised poultry, eggs and honey. While transitioning 65+ acres to certified organic we raise all our crops adhering to the strict standards of organic certification. That means making our own compost and using no petroleum based pesticides or fertilizers. Our pasture grown animals are raised on organic corn and soy based feeds with no antibiotics or medications and enjoy plenty of fresh air, sunshine and vitamin rich "greens" on their pasture home.
We strive to educate our customers about the benefits of eating locally grown food as well as the many benefits of supporting local agriculture. Today our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program provides 150+ families with freshly harvested vegetables and fruit from early June through the end of October.
