The British American Chamber Of Commerce

1120 Chester Avenue
216-621-0222

As a bilateral chamber of commerce, our mission includes the promotion and stimulation of transatlantic trade and commerce between the United States and the United Kingdom. We recognize the importance of trade with the U.K. in its wider role as a member of the European Union.

The BACC, Great Lakes Region, (BACCGL) is a member of The British-American Business Council (BABC). As an international organization, the BABC links all the British-American Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.K. The governments of the United States and the United Kingdom support the BABC and its members and provide commercial assistance and referral. Both governments also provide general consular support through their respective diplomatic offices.

The BACCGL works closely with many local, state and international organizations involved in promotion of overseas commerce. These include the World Trade Center Cleveland, the State of Ohio Governor's Office and Department of Development, the City of Cleveland Mayor's Office, the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, the Toledo Regional Growth Partnership, and the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce.

Local companies and individuals in Ohio founded the British-American Chamber of Commerce, Great Lakes Region, (BACCGL) in May 1994. At present we have over 100 individuals with a ratio of 82% corporate/business memberships and 18% individual memberships. All types of industries are represented from service providers to manufactures to high-tech.

Since our founding, we have successfully completed various trade and business seminars, including those relating to ISO 9000, Exporting to Europe, Bilateral Trade Relationships, etc. Assistance has also been provided to various companies throughout Ohio in the areas of:

Establishment
Joint Ventures

BACCGL is also a member of the British-American Business Council (BABC) which is the largest transatlantic business organization, consisting of more than 30 chapters and some 4,000 companies in major cities throughout North America and the United Kingdom.

The key objectives of both the BABC and the BACCGL are:

To support the unique business partnership between the U.S. and the U.K.

To provide business development and business intelligence services to its member companies

To provide its member companies with access to a broader, transatlantic business network.
