Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company

1590 Bustard Road
215-362-2776

Before 1949, Towamencin Township relied on the Borough of Lansdale, and Skippack Township for Fire Coverage. The response time was too long since they were another town over. A group of men got together and decided it was time for Towamencin Township to have it's own Fire Company. In 1949, the official fire company that would cover all of Towamencin Township would be called the Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company. In 1949, the Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company had less than a dozen men and only one engine. By 1999 (50th annversery) the company had grew to over 70 men and had 4 engines, 1 tanker and 1 rescue truck.
