P.O. Box 130
256-737-5411

Located just north of Cullman on US Highway 31, the Town of South Vinemont was incorporated in 1961 and has a population of approximately 450. Vinemont is a place of rural beauty that is home to many outdoor programs and activities. The town is located just south of the Cullman Airport at Folsom Field and is the gateway to Cullman County for many travelers.

"It's a great place," said Mayor Melba Patton. "The citizens of Vinemont are our number one asset. To me, we have the number one school in the county. We have a great fire department, an active Scout chapter and senior citizens special event, our Jam Session - Country, Bluegrass and Gospel the first Friday night of every month."

"Our wastewater project is in place and working. We're currently seeking grants for Phases II and III of this project. The town has started to blossom with new buildings for businesses and new homes."

The Town of South Vinemont boasts quick access to Interstate 65, convenience to the airport, it is bisected by Highway 31 and also located near Alabama Highway 157; and the east side of town backs up on the (CSX) railroad.

On a more community-oriented level, the town has a 3/4 mile walking trail that is popular with residents and a Scout/Community Center that is used by both civic groups and private citizens. According to Patton, the town's summer baseball program is also a source of great pride and plans are in the works to expand the program and construct additional baseball/softball fields.
