Union Vale Fire District

3373 Route 82
845-677-9262

The Union Vale Fire District was organized under New York State Town Law 176(a) in 1952 by a committee from the Union Vale Grange # 887 as a community project. Since then with the literal blood and sweat of many volunteers we have remained a full volunteer department providing both fire and EMS services to the Town of Union Vale residents and those who are just passing though on NY State Routes 55 and 82. Because of Clove Mountain being roughly in the middle of our town we have two stations to serve opposite ends and provide back up to the whole town and mutual aid to adjoining towns.

Both stations house two Sutphen custom pumpers, an ambulance, and a brush truck. Station 1 on Route 82 in Verbank has the Rescue Truck and a hose reel truck. Both stations were built by volunteers. Station 1 was financed almost totally with donations and fund raisers via several additions over the first 40 years. Station 2 was constructed with the help of the volunteers in 1982.
