About Us

Upward Elementary School is located in the Southeastern part of Henderson County.  We sit atop a hill that overlooks the Flat Rock area.  Our students are proud to be the Eagles.  This pride can be seen throughout our building and heard on Friday mornings when we chant our Eagle Cheer.  Our students challenge themselves not only in academics but also in character.  Our students go above and beyond to show love and respect towards one another.  The Eagles work hard and this was evident in our 2014-15 EOG scores when we Exceeded Expected Growth! Parents, Students, and Staff all agree that Upward is a special place where we grow Eagles who will make positive changes in this world.

Our Mission

The staff members of Upward Elementary School will guide each student to achieve the highest level of success in a safe and nurturing environment.  The needs of each student will be considered in designing teaching strategies to promote appropriate developmental progress.  Each faculty member will pursue areas of professional development to enhance his or her competencies to achieve our school improvement goals.
