Victory Baptist Church began in the heart of a preacher named Bro. Tom Woodward. On March 24, 1976 he met with four families and one lady in his living room for a prayer meeting and to discuss starting a new church. He leased and, eventually, purchased a small building in East Milton and held the first service on June 13, 1976. Total attendance was 14. From that humble beginning, God raised up a church that would eventually be reaching into every continent with the gospel.

In 1984, the Lord burdened Bro. Woodward’s heart to begin a scripture-printing ministry that would provide Bibles to missionaries free of charge. A small sheet-fed press was set up in one of the Sunday School rooms and a preacher with no financial backing and no experience in printing began what is now Victory Baptist Press. For more than 25 years, Victory Baptist Press has printed and shipped millions of scriptures to every state and over forty foreign countries.

In 1994, Bro. Woodward, battling cancer for two years, recommended to the church that they call Bro. Tim Fellure to take the leadership of the church. The hand of God was evident in the transition: Bro. Woodward made the commendation just three days before his death, and there was not one Sunday that the church went without a pastor. The last twenty years under Pastor Fellure’s leadership have been exciting years of growth and blessing. The church has built upon the strong foundation laid by Bro. Woodward and has remained conservative in music, vibrant in spirit, and Biblical in preaching.
