About Us:

Cato has become a bedroom community with many residents working elsewhere. People are beginning to settle in the village since fiber optic services are available. Our community is one of two with two toll-free telephone exchanges (Auburn and Syracuse). The Cato-Meridian Central School, located midway between the villages of Cato and Meridian, is the largest employer in the area. A unique characteristic of the village, which is one mile square, is its location among the best formed drumlins in the world.

One of the most unique qualities of our community and the area is the spirit of cooperation, resulting in the construction of the ball field, a park and a first class recreational center, to name just a few. An attractive brochure of the area is available in the village office. We are proud to say, "We did it ourselves."
