The West Virginia Genealogical Society, Inc., was organized in 1983, serving Kanawha County, West Virginia. Membership is open to all who are interested in genealogical or historical research and in the objectives of the Society, which are:
-to increase interest in genealogical research and compilation.
-to aid members in the act of genealogical research and compilation.
-to acquaint members with sources of genealogical research.
-to serve as a medium of exchange of genealogical information.
-to promote the collection, preservation and utilization of materials of genealogical value.
