Primarily, the Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce provides a necessary forum for the exchange of ideas and information among local business people in retailing, service, and the professions. It administers an on-going schedule of programs, projects, and meetings designed to keep local business people in contact with one another and with the needs of the business community. The Chamber monitors local developments and regulation, keeps in regular contact with town officials and local legislators, and informs members on issues that affect business. The chamber represents both its individual members and the business community as a whole and acts on their behalf. The Chamber builds good relationships between business people and the larger community by working in coalition with other town groups on charitable projects and civic events.
