The major purpose of the elementary school program is to provide students in grades K-5 with a solid education and a thorough foundation in the basic skills. Students are instructed in reading, mathematics, language arts, social studies, health, science, and foreign language. In addition, classes are offered in physical education, vocal and instrumental music, art, and library. Instruction is also provided in the area of technology. A sequential, integrated guidance curriculum is offered.

Our elementary Library Media Center and Computer Lab offer a variety of materials for students. The books, records, tapes, and computer software are used to supplement classroom instruction.

When homework is assigned to elementary students, its purpose is to practice skills introduced in the classroom. The amount varies with the subject and grade level of the students. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in the student’s homework assignments by reading and working with their children.
