About us:

William David Surratt Elementary School was the first school established by the Clint Independent School District. Surratt currently serves 856 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. The school is located in the Rio Grande Valley in the eastern part of El Paso County. Surratt is named after a prominent farmer/businessman from the community.

Our mascot is the lion cub, and our colors are blue and white.

Surratt received an "Acceptable" rating from the Texas Education Agency in 2005-2006.

Students and parents are very active on the campus. Parents are active as volunteers and in P.T.O. Clint High School has several programs in which students shadow our teachers and gain clerical experience by helping out in our office. In addition, Surratt partners with several local businesses, corporations, and community service organizations.

Several initiatives are under way at Surratt this year. Surratt's literacy, math, and science leaders assist teachers and students with improving instruction and learning. Students who are having problems academically are provided with Title I reading support, and tutoring. Parents and teachers are an integral part of this team.

At Surratt our staff, students, parents, and the community work with minds, hearts, and hands together to prepare our students to be lifelong learners and successful citizens.
