Why We Do What We Do

Listed below are some things that we do differently.  If you are curious as to why we do these or other things, please ask us.  Feel free to call the church office with your questions (903-873-3106).

--We do sing acapela (without the instrument).

--We do not belong to any district, synod, or other organization.  We are autonomous.

--We baptize (immerse) for the forgiveness of sins.

--We do not call our preacher a pastor or reverend.

--We are not Campbellites.

--We prefer to be called Christians or Saints or brethren.

--We believe that bishops, pastors, presbyters, and elders all refer to the same office.

--We believe that, although only men lead in public worship, women have a vital part in our service to God.

--We believe in partaking of the Lord’s Supper every Sunday.

--We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is our guide to happy living.
