Wright, Wyoming was founded in 1976 and incorporated in 1985. It is a close-knit community of about 1500 - 1800 pioneers of the new energy frontier. Wright is located at the junction of highways 59 and 387 in the heart of the Powder River Basin.

A "Sunday Drive" though the area provides a unique opportunity to observe abundant wildlife, including pronghorn, antelope, mule deer, whitetail deer, American buffalo, elk, and many other wildlife species.

Northeastern Wyoming offers varied recreational activities such as hiking, climbing, backpacking, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, snow skiing, hunting and fishing.
