Wildwood Park for the Arts offers a Jazzy Valentine on Thursday, February 11th at 7 pm featuring a magical evening complete with a performance from Jazz Legend, Ed Polcer. A romantic atmosphere outfitted with cabaret seating, Polcer sets the mood for an intimate pre-Valentine’s Day celebration. Tickets are $50 per person and include a blissful evening with delectable chocolates, a rose for each lady and a toast to romance with a complimentary glass of wine. Additional refreshments will be available for purchase. Listed in Great Britain’s, “The Guinness Who’s Who of Jazz,” Polcer is one of the most sought after performers on the jazz festival circuit, performing in hundreds of concerts in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Eastern Asia. Best known for his album, “The Magic of Swing Street,” and the classic jazz of New York’s fabled W. 52nd Street, Polcer is also known for his swing translations of Broadway tunes. Equally gifted in the Dixieland genre, Polcer led the house band at Eddie Condon’s club and performed with Red Balaban. He has also performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, at the wedding of Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly of Monaco and his music can be heard on the soundtracks of several movies. Polcer visited Wildwood Park in 2008 featured in the Park’s The Living Treasures in Jazz series.
