About Dr. Sadaf “My extended family is full of physicians. I always admired their medical knowledge, work ethics and compassion for their patients,” says Dr. Aroba Sadaf. “From a very early age, I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps.” Dr. Sadaf enjoyed all topics and subjects in medical school and found that family medicine was the best way to practice them all. “Being in family medicine, my focus is not just on the presenting problem, but also on preventive care. I am big on educating my patients about their health conditions and treatments, informing them about age-appropriate screening exams and answering any questions,” she says. “My philosophy is holistic and patient-centered.” Dr. Sadaf earned her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Wisconsin. “I have learned that as a family medicine physician, I need to be prepared for anything and everything. My patients put a lot of trust in me,” Dr. Sadaf says. “They have taught me the value of compassion, empathy and made me very humble.” Dr. Sadaf joins Beacon because of shared values. “Beacon places a lot of importance on community primary care. Patient care and patient well-being is at the core of Beacon Health System. It caters to patients living in urban and rural areas,” says Dr. Sadaf, whose background is in rural health. “As a family physician, I want to work in a place where I will see and treat a broad range of things.  The health system has a diverse patient population that comes from all different walks of life.” In her own words… Who is or was the most influential person/role model in your life? My father. I love his straightforward personality, sense of humor and strong work ethic. What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? Waitressing. I remember getting good tips.  What is something most people don’t know about you? I have a little daughter. She is such a blessing. If you could sit down to dinner with anyone, alive or deceased, who would it be and why? My late maternal grandmother. I shared a very close bond with her.   In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about?  I love to travel and try cooking new recipes.
