Schedule Now at Beacon Medical Group Mishawaka Primary Plus About Dr. Huber A dose of humor with common sense is the approach Dr. Brian Huber takes as a primary care doctor. “You are the captain of your ship and I am the navigation system making sure you don’t hit an iceberg,” he says. “However, when you accidentally steer yourself into the iceberg I call the Coast Guard to come save your life.” His philosophy to practicing medicine is to be his patients’ guide. “I give you choices and educate you to make the best decisions you can to make your life as healthy as you want it to be.” Dr. Huber is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program. He is interested in dermatologic procedures. "Beacon is giving me the opportunity to make something that will improve the primary care model for the community, patients, staff and myself. For that I will be forever grateful,” he says. His experience has taught him that he gets to positively impact his patients’ lives as much as they impact his. He wants everyone he cares for to know that he is no different than they are. “I am a normal guy that does normal things on a daily basis.” In his own words… Who is or was the most influential person/role models in your life?  My wife. I would be a totally different person if she hadn’t been in my life for 27 years and counting. What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it?  Home construction. I loved every minute of it. I worked hard and learned skills that would be utilized throughout my entire life. What is your favorite food? Movie?  My favorite food is the next new dish my family makes.  Bad Words with Jason Batemen is my favorite movie. What was your best subject in school growing up?  My favorite class was any one where I could “argue” with the teacher. If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why?  Steve Rinella…so I could pick his brain about hunting, cooking wild game and conservation efforts. What are your hobbies, interests?  Hunting, shooting, cooking, video games, cowboy boots What is something most people don’t know about you?  I am “above average” at [the game] Fortnite.
