Dr. Marxer is board certified in both internal and geriatric medicine. He welcomes all patients. His motto is: "WELLNESS IS FITNESS." His philosophy is that incorporating the well documented and liberating realization into clinical practice improves chronic disease control, forestalls the effects of aging, and fosters a vibrant, active and independent life.. Before entering medical school, Dr. Marxer worked for two years as a science teacher with the Peace Corps in Morgoro, Tanzania, East Africa. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He trained in the New York City Hospital System affiliated with the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and served as Chief Medical Resident. His post residency training was as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Columbia University. He has been on the medical faculty of Harvard and Emory Universities. He came to Atlanta in 1990 to establish a Geriatric Evaluation Program at the Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital. He began private practice with his current partners in 1995, and they have been part of Piedmont Physicians at their current location since 2008. Dr. Marxer accepts new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
