About Michelle Streb Since high school, nurse practitioner Michelle Streb knew she wanted a career in medicine. “Forty years later,” she says, “I still love what I do.” At Beacon Medical Group, she aims to provide the best care possible to her patients. Her primary focus is on optimizing women’s health through personalized compassionate care. Michelle likes to work in collaboration with patients so that they can take more ownership over their overall wellbeing. “I want my patients to know I truly care about them. People have a right to understand their health problems and contribute to the solution,” she explains. “I believe mental and physical health go hand-in-hand. It’s important for me to educate my patients, particularly women, so they can have better agency regarding their health.” In her own words… Who is or was the most influential person/role model in your life?  My parents. They were both extremely hard working and instilled a strong work ethic in me. What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it?  My parents owned a small ice cream shop, and I learned to wait on customers and count back change at age ten. What is your favorite food? Movie?  Vegetables! And I love all the Star Wars movies. What were your best/worst subjects in school growing up?  My best subject was science. The worst was math. If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why?  The Dalai Lama, because I would like to learn better patience in trying times. In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about?  Family and doing what I can to leave a smaller environmental footprint. What are your hobbies, interests?  Yoga, hiking, reading, healthy cooking and being a good grandmother. Do you have any pets?  Yes, I have one dog, Reggie and one cat, Bella (and some pond fish). What is something most people don’t know about you? I  stopped eating meat in 2019.
