What’s Cooler Than Cool? Air-Cooled Engines – No radiator, no water, no kidding! Air cooled engines were introduced early in the twentieth century and lasted in automobiles until the 1980’s, when they started to fade out. Today, motorcycles and some foreign vehicles still use air-cooled technology.

In this exhibit, which opens October 27 and runs through April 14th, 2024. There will be seventeen vehicles from a 1920s style Pembleton Brooklands Race Car and a 1934 Franklin Airman Club Sedan to a 1989 Trabant on display.

New for this display will be special isles that will allow visitors to view the whole vehicle: front, back, and side, for educational purposes concerning the engines and the air-cooled systems states Executive Director, Linda Merkel.
