Delaware Democratic Party Chair Reacts to Kathy McGuiness’ Conviction  

New Castle, DE - Delaware Democratic Party Chair Betsy Maron released the following statement in reaction to the Kathy McGuiness verdict

”As we said at the time of the indictment, Kathy’s actions are beneath the dignity of any office and disqualifying. Now that a jury has found her guilty of not one but three criminal public corruption crimes, we only feel more strongly. Mrs. McGuiness cannot be counted on to do her job in accordance with the law.

We believe it is important for Democrats to adhere to the law, and work to increase trust in the institutions and responsibilities that the public has entrusted us with. Kathy McGuinness has breached the public’s trust and has proven she should not continue to serve in her current role and should resign."
