A celebration of Polk City!

The Four Seasons Festival showcases the businesses, organizations, and residents that foster a deep sense of community and pride in Polk City.

The Four Seasons Festival is held annually in July in Polk City, Iowa. Each year, the Festival features familiar favorites such as a parade, activities on The Square, car show, and live music in the beer garden. Over time, organizers have added a fun run, contests, golf outing, and more.

Family-friendly Activities on the Square (map)

Youth/Teen Activities at Kiwanis Park

Youth activities targeted toward teens and preteens will be available at Kiwanis Park. All activities will be pick-up style meaning teams will form and evolve throughout play.
- The northside green space will be set up with equipment for wiffle ball on Friday, and flag football on Saturday.
- Basketball, sand volleyball, Kan Jam, Frisbee Golf, and socializing at the shelter will be available throughout the Festival.
Gather a group of friends or find some already at Kiwanis Park. All are welcome to join in the fun!

6:00pm: 3-Point Shoot Out (details) - Kiwanis Park
Participants will have 1 minute and 10 basketballs, 2 basketballs placed at 5 set positions on the three-point arch, to attempt three-point field goals. Scores are determined by how many shots are made. Participants will be placed into divisions based on age and gender at the time of the contest.

The Four Seasons Festival contests are for the young AND the young at heart! The 3-Point Shoot Out on Friday and Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby have adult divisions for males and females. Dust off those Reebok Pumps and stretch your hamstrings then register to show those whipper snappers what you are still made of!

7:30-9:30am: Fun Run

8K run, 5K run/walk, or youth 2.5K
- Runners and walkers are welcome to register.
- Participants should arrive at the Polk City Legion (1st and Broadway) at or before 7:20AM.
- Tiered start begins at 7:30AM with 8k then 5k then 2.5k.
- Finish line will be at 3rd and Broadway.
- Spectators and supporters are encouraged along the route.

$15 per person OR $30 per family (2 or more)

Join the Parade!

With over 5,000 attendees, the Four Seasons Festival Parade is FREE and a great opportunity to reach a broad audience! Area businesses, churches, organizations, events, and other entities are welcomed to participate in the parade and celebrated as members of our community.

Entries do not have to be complex or fancy. Common entries include tractors, trucks, flatbed trailers, dancers, boats, classic cars, and characters. Crowd favorites are always creativity and quirky! Want extra attention? Hand out candy or swag. Play music. Decorate your entry. Invite others to join you as participants OR to cheer you on as attendees at the parade.

12:00pm - 3:00pm: 15th Annual Four Seasons Festival Car Show at Water's Edge Bar and Grill

Calling all vehicle enthusiasts and gear heads!

Exhibit your pride and joy at the 15th Annual Four Seasons Festival Car Show. Classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, projects in-progress, and more. Awards for "People's Choice" and "Best in Show" will be announced at 3:30PM at the Water's Edge patio on Broadway Street.

Important Note: The car show is limited to 50 vehicles. Registration will close when 50 vehicles are registered OR on Thursday, July 13th at 12:00PM, which ever comes first.

Are you a magician, singer, or dancer?
Can you juggle or tell a joke?

3:00-6:00pm: Bags Tournament

Teams will play in bracket-style, double elimination tournament in the parking lot of the Polk City American Legion. All games will be played to 21 or over. Cash prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Register at the Polk City Legion on the day of the tournament from 1:00-3:00 PM. A $20 cash entry fee is due at registration.

1:00pm: Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby (details) - Polk City Legion Green Space
Children 8-15 years will compete individually against their peers to hit as many home runs with a wiffle ball out of 10 pitches. Participants will be placed into divisions based on age and gender at the time of the contest.
