Four Seasons Festival

A celebration of Polk City!

The Four Seasons Festival showcases the businesses, organizations, and residents that foster a deep sense of community and pride in Polk City.

The first Four Seasons Festival was in 2007. John Calhoun, the founder and original chair of the Festival, "started it as a community event to bring all the neighbors together, as a community pride thing." The inaugural event featured activities on the Square including a parade, art show, and pancake breakfast.

The Polk City Chamber, known as Go Polk City!, oversees and manages the Festival. Calhoun's vision of, "various nonprofits working together along with the business community and Chamber,” remains at the heart of the Four Seasons Festival. Volunteers and community members organize and operate the events that make up the Festival and feature what Polk City has to offer residents and people from surround communities. “Polk City has always been a kind of secret city, tucked up alongside Saylorville Lake and surrounded by Army Corps of Engineers land," Calhoun reflected. "People think it’s difficult to get here, but it’s not. You’re 20 minutes away from anything here.”

The Four Seasons Festival is held annually in July in Polk City, Iowa. Each year, the Festival features familiar favorites such as a parade, activities on The Square, car show, and live music in the beer garden. Over time, organizers have added a fun run, contests, golf outing, and more. Check out the events page for a full schedule.
